The aggressive bite of the barnstorming BLS banger “Damn the Flood” sits comfortably right alongside the stripped down, emotionally searing “Angel of Mercy,” “Scars” and “Shades of Gray.” The album’s opening tracks, “Fields of Unforgiveness” and lead single “My Dying Time,” drop the throttle into swampy, down-tempo menace that wouldn’t sound out of place in a Classic Rock band’s catalog nor at the creative height of the grunge era.

Pride & Glory is a typical 90's riff-oriented heavy metal album distinguished by great 70's Southern rock vibes (harmonica, piano, mandolin, banjo, nice acoustic parts, and singing style). There are some occasional Beatlesque influences too (piano and pop sensibilities). My favourite Zakk Wylde's album, with some of his characteristics sense of humour. OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
